The Protect Duty, also known as Martyn's Law, is a proposed legislation in the UK aimed at enhancing the security and preparedness of public places against terrorist attacks. If you operate a venue designated as a public place, you'll be required to assess your exposure to security risk and implement security measures proportionate to the size and capacity of your venue. Risk & Threat Assessment

We'll conduct a thorough risk assessment to identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities specific to the venue. Using our extensive experience in counter-terrorism we'll tailor a venue specific threat assessment, giving you an insight into your exposure to risk. We'll build a comprehensive risk register for you and assist you in maintaining it, ensuring compliance with the law and an effective means to reduce your risk.

Security Planning & Controls

We'll work with you to design venue specific security controls and measures that are appropriate and proportionate based on the risk assessment. This may include securing entrances and exits, improving lighting, and installing CCTV and access control systems. We'll also Develop and implement evacuation and invacuation plans to ensure the safety of patrons and staff during an attack, helping you practice and prepare to implement them.

Training & Awareness

Under the proposed law, All staff members will need to undergo "terrorism training" to understand what to do in the event of an attack and how to reduce the risk of physical harm. We'll design venue specific training for your staff, along with threat and awareness briefs to ensure your staff has the latest insight into threats.
